summer months of 2008 Froglife is appealing for specimens of amphibians
which have died for any reason - disease or otherwise. If you are

The One Show celebrates Toad Patrolling! The
BBC’s One Show this week salutes the UK’s toad patrollers,
highlighting their commitment each spring in helping thousands of toads
cross busy roads, whilst contributing their data to important national
monitoring initiatives. The show will air on Thursday 17 April.

your bit for snakes this spring! As
the last of the UK’s reptiles begin to stir after hibernation, now
is the time to start preparing your snake-friendly garden for the

Children
and teachers encouraged
to spawn-watch! Provided that the tadpoles are raised suitably (to ensure the
welfare of the animals) and are then released carefully in the same
pond from which they were taken, Froglife are keen to get across that
this is a great way for children and adults to experience and
learn more about the wonders of nature up-close.

Stop
the swap! Froglife
is
advising the public that they should encourage amphibians naturally
into gardens rather than donate frogspawn to other gardeners this
spring. The advice is being given to
help national efforts to stop the spread of invasive pond plants,
animals and amphibian disease. More
